Hint: It's on Broadway...
I'm OBSESSED with "Dear Evan Hansen", a play about a lonely teen who gets caught up in a viral lie and the suicide of another teen. I saw it during opening week in December...
...and I've seen it two more times since. I love how it explores so many different angles of relationships, specifically between parents and kids (a mother and
her son) and between a husband and a wife forced to confront a traumatic issue.
also like that it deals with social media and its effects on young
people and families and how that relates to our day-to-day life. There are so many levels to this story—lying,
intention, suicide, teen mental issues—that feel so relevant right now.
There are tons of people out there
who feel like they don’t have anyone. This is a story that could be happening anywhere in the word to any
group of young people. I think that’s really important!
Also, I CAN'T GET ENOUGH of the music, especially the song "Waving Through a Window".
Shout out to dope composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who created the "Dear Evan Hansen" sounds AND wrote the tunes for "The Greatest Showman," the movie I'm filming right now!
